EcoFreak

Who We Are

EcoFreak is a youth-led organization committed to championing sustainable livelihoods through the forestry lens. We work to ensure that the pursuit of livelihoods is in line with the protection/conservation of the environment.  As a result, we seek to build capacities, recondition minds, and show people how to generate income in sustainable ways.

With poverty as one of the underlying causes of environmental degradation, EcoFreak’s innovative approach addresses this challenge by delivering alternative green income opportunities that initiate a ripple effect, ultimately halting land degradation, promoting land restoration, and ensuring the long-term success of restoration initiatives. EcoFreak’s model empowers local communities, making them an integral workforce in restoration efforts.

EcoFreak seeks to create a harmonious link between people and the planet. We redefine sustainability by placing people at the heart of environmental solutions. This unique approach restores degraded landscapes and transforms them into thriving ecosystems that support human and planetary well-being. With its action point in Alege Village, Oyam District, Northern Uganda, EcoFreak services have a national reach.
